Founder & Captain
Fabián has been guiding travelers through these waters since 1998 — one of the original pioneers of the Cartagena–San Blas sailing route. Colombian and bilingual (Spanish and English), he’s endlessly at home in Guna Yala: he knows the islands, the reefs, and the history and culture of the Guna people intimately, and he loves sharing it with everyone who steps aboard. After building Sailing Koala, he now captains Sailing Gecko — bringing decades of sea miles and a well-earned reputation for turning a boat full of strangers into a crew of travel friends.
